Bill Wilson

Wilson came to the Academy in the summer of 2009 after spending six years as the head coach at Dartmouth College. During his tenure with the Big Green, he compiled a 40-44 overall record, while coaching nine first-team all-league players, one Ivy League Rookie of the Year, 18 first-team All-New England players and seven players selected in the Major League Lacrosse Draft. Signature wins for Dartmouth during Wilson's six-year stint include an upset of fourth-ranked Maryland in 2005, a pair of victories of top-10 ranked Notre Dame and a win over 10th-ranked league rival Princeton in 2008.

Wilson's coaching career began at Princeton University in 1995, where he helped coach the Tigers to the 1996 Ivy League and NCAA championships. He then spent five years as the first assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Hofstra from 1997-2001, when The Pride made four trips in five years to the NCAA Tournament, reaching the quarterfinals in both 1998 and 2000.

Before taking over the helm at Dartmouth in 2004, Wilson served as the first assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Cornell in 2003, helping the Big Red to its first Ivy League title in 16 years.

A 1994 graduate of Loyola College, Wilson was a four-year letterwinner and four-year starter at defense for the Greyhounds. Wilson's teams at Loyola qualified for the NCAA Tournament each season, while advancing to the quarterfinals three times. He was also honored as a senior by earning a spot in the 1994 North-South All-Star game.

Wilson, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., graduated from West Genesee High School, where he was a two-sport athlete in hockey and lacrosse. In 1990, Wilson's teams won the New York State Class "A" championships in both sports. In 1989, he represented the Central region in the Empire State Games, earning a gold medal for lacrosse.

Wilson and his wife, Ilona, have two daughters, Abigail and Olivia, and reside in Colorado Springs.

Mark Miller

Mark Miller, a former all-conference goaltender at Division II power Adelphi College, has joined the Colorado College men’s lacrosse program as a full-time assistant coach.

Miller will serve as the top assistant and will work primarily with the offensive personnel and goaltenders. He also will be in charge of travel and play an integral role in recruiting and alumni relations.

Miller comes to CC from Texas Christian University, where he served as head coach of the MCLA club team since 2007 and worked as an assistant equipment manager since 2005.

Miller began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Adelphi, working with the defense and recruiting. He also has worked at some of the top summer camps in Connecticut, Maryland and Texas, and was co-director of the Maximum Lacrosse Camps for 10-17 year olds.

Miller earned a pair of letters at Ohio Wesleyan (2000 and ‘01) before transferring to Adelphi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in media communications in 2003 and is currently working on his master’s in advertising and public relations at TCU.

Hank Janczyk

One of the most successful lacrosse coaches in NCAA history, Hank Janczyk will take to the sidelines for his 24th season at the helm of the Gettysburg College men’s lacrosse team in 2011.

With a career record of 345-101 (300-77 at Gettysburg), Janczyk ranks second in NCAA history in men's lacrosse coaching victories (all divisions). He became just the fifth NCAA men's lacrosse coach to reach 300 wins when Gettysburg defeated Denison University 9-5 on March 8, 2008.

Janczyk also won his 300th game as a Gettysburg coach when the Bullets topped McDaniel College 10-6 in the 2010 Centennial Conference semifinals. He is one of just three NCAA men's lacrosse coaches to pick up 300 victories at one school.

In 2010, Janczyk directed the Bullets to a 15-3 record, their ninth straight appearance in the Centennial Conference championship game, and their seventh consecutive NCAA tournament berth. Early in the season, Gettysburg spent three weeks ranked No. 1 in United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)·Division III poll before finishing at No. 4.

During his tenure, the 1976 graduate of Hobart College has guided the Bullets to 17 conference titles. Under Janczyk, Gettysburg has made 20 appearances in the NCAA Division III playoffs – a feat that has been accomplished by just three other Division III schools. Seventy Bullets have earned All-America recognition under Janczyk's tutelage, and six players have captured a total of seven·Division III positional player of the year awards. In addition,·he·coached·the program's first-ever·Division III overall national player of the year when long stick midfielder Tommy Kehoe '09 won the Iroquois National Award.

Eight of Janczyk’s teams have reached the national semifinals, with his 2001, 2002, and 2009 squads making it to the championship game. Every one of his Bullet squads has finished with a winning record.

Janczyk’s 2001 Bullets set school records for consecutive victories (14) and wins in a season (16) en route to the program’s first-ever national title game appearance. As a result, he earned the 2001 Babe Kraus Award as the Division III Coach of the Year, an honor he first won in 1984 at Salisbury. On April 7, 2001, he earned his 200th career coaching victory with a 14-10 win over Western Maryland.

The following year, the Bullets again broke the program record for victories in a season (17) and ascended to No. 1 in the national rankings for the third time in four years. Janczyk’s 2006 team tied the single-season school record for wins, finishing 17-2.

In 2008 Janczyk won the USILA Howdy Myers Man of the Year Award, presented to an individual who has contributed to the game of lacrosse in a capacity over and above the normal efforts and has shown unselfish and untiring devotion to the game.

At Hobart, Janczyk earned three varsity letters as a defenseman on the lacrosse team. He played on a pair of NCAA Division III runners-up and captained Hobart's 1976 national championship squad. He will be inducted into the Hobart Hall of Fame as part of the 2010 class.

Following several assistant coaching positions, Janczyk was named the head coach at Salisbury, where his teams posted a three-year record of 33-12. Later he coached two years at Colgate University before arriving at Gettysburg.

Steve Grossi

A 2009 graduate of Drexel University, Grossi earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. A four-year player for the Dragons, Steve was a four-time All-Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) selection, earning second-team honors in 2005 and 2006 while being tabbed first-team in 2007 and 2008. Grossi was also a two-time pre-season honorable mention All-American and was on the Tewaarton Trophy Watch List in 2008. Steve was a captain from 2007-2008 and was voted the team's Most Valuable Player in his senior year in 2008.

He was a key figure in the Dragon's defense that finished seventh in the nation in 2007 when Drexel won a share of the CAA regular season championship. Grossi also helped guide the Dragons to some highlight victories for the Drexel program, including an upset victory over perennial national power University of Virginia in overtime in 2006. 

After his eligibility was completed at Drexel in 2008, Steve was a member of the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League in 2008-2009. Most recently, Steve was a Developmental/Player Coach and a member of the Glenelg Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, South Australia, where he earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Australia National Championships in the summer of 2010. Additionally, Coach Grossi was a graduate assistant coach at Drexel University for the 2008-2009 season, assisting with the team defense and man-down units. Steve was also a member of the Drexel University Junior Achievement Program from 2005-2007 and was responsible for creating and implementing a lacrosse program within the Philadelphia intercity school districts.

Steve's former head coach at Drexel University, Chris Bates (presently the head coach at Princeton University), commented that Steve was one of the three all-time hardest workers and one of the finest young men that he has had the opportunity to work with over his past 20 years as a head coach.

Coach Rostan on Assistant Coach Steve Grossi: "We are very pleased to have attracted a coach of Steve Grossi's character and abilities. The Drexel University program has achieved national prominence over the past several years, particularly under the direction of Steve's former coach, Chris Bates. Steve Grossi is a young coach with a great attitude and work ethic, and he has the same attributes that we strive to achieve day-to-day within our lacrosse program at Hampden-Sydney College."

Hugh Donovan

Hugh Donovan has been named the men’s lacrosse head coach at Harford, as announced by Athletics Director Ken Krsolovic. Donovan was an assistant coach for two different NCAA Division I programs for a total of seven seasons.

Most recently, Donovan served as the assistant coach at Mount St. Mary’s University from 1998-2001. He developed off-season training programs as well as being in charge of recruiting and game day operations. He was a member of Mount St. Mary’s first conference championship team in 1999.

Donovan was responsible for recruiting and in-season practice sessions during his first assistant coaching stint at his alma mater, Bucknell University, for three seasons, from 1996-98. He was the defensive coordinator for the Bison while coaching numerous All-American and All-Patriot League players.

He was also a professional lacrosse player in both the indoor and outdoor leagues for over eight years. Donovan was a member of the Baltimore Bayhawks 2001 MLL Championship team and the 2000 runner-up squad. He also played for five other professional teams from 1998-2005.

Donovan graduated from Bucknell with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1996.

A.J. Stevens

A.J. Stevens enters his first season at Colorado Mesa Universy after spending two years as the head coach at the University of Illinois. ··During his time at Illinois Stevens also served as director of lacrosse operations and assistant coach for Chicago’s Major League Lacrosse franchise the Chicago Machine.

Stevens was named the head coach at Illinois during the summer of 2005 and quickly established the Illini as one of the premier lacrosse programs in the Midwest. In two years, he compiled a 23-13 overall record and a 15-5 Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference mark, having reached the conference championship game each season. Additionally, Stevens was twice named GRLC Coach of the year producing 21 All-Conference players, 9 Academic All-America honorees, 4 All-America team members, and one Offensive Player of the Year. · The Illini also completed each season under Stevens ranked in the MCLA top 25 poll.· Prior to his arrival, Illinois had not been nationally ranked in nearly a decade.

Prior to coming to Illinois, Stevens served as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College, a NCAA Division I school in Hanover, NH. During his tenure, Dartmouth began the transition from also-ran to a national contender in Division I college lacrosse.· Prior to joining the Big Green, Stevens was the head coach at Roger Williams University, a NCAA Division III school in Bristol, RI. He led the Hawks to a 7-7 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. He was the head coach of the West team in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Senior All-Star Game.· Stevens also served as head coach at Indiana University leading the Hoosiers to a 13-3 record.· He has a career record of 44 wins and 23 losses in four seasons as a head coach.

Stevens played three years of varsity lacrosse for the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and was team captain as a senior. He also played for the Barnstable Blitz of the Cape Cod Lacrosse League led by Hall of Fame Coach Jim Turnbull.
